Universal 3000

Air Separation and Liquefaction System

Designed for smaller, remote and emerging merchant liquid markets, the Universal 3000 offers industrial gas companies low initial cost, low operating costs, and a high degree of product mix flexibility. 

Producing about 100 MTD of liquid product, the Universal 3000 can adjust its product mix to match the local market - and the mix can change as the market evolves.  As much as 70% of total production can be LOX or as much as 90% can be LIN.  In addition, the plant will produce up to 3 TPD of LAR using cryogenic distillation.

Performance is based upon ambient conditions of 1.014 bar (a), 20°C dry bulb, 50% relative humidity, and 19.4°C cooling water. 
 

Flexibility– The Key to Success

The Universal 3000 is designed to produce at a total production rate that facilitates economical merchant operations, while giving the plant operator considerable flexibility to vary product mix. 

The plant can make as much as 70% of the product as LOX, or 90% as LIN – whatever is needed to meet local demand. 

The Universal 3000 will also co-produce gaseous oxygen and nitrogen when local pipeline supply opportunities are available. 

By controlling the quality of gas streams that would be vented in a pure merchant plant, the Universal 3000 allows you to serve “piggyback” pipeline customers at very low cost. 

Just add a product compression system and a tie-in to the customer’s in-plant distribution system to enjoy additional revenues.

Pure Argon –Standard

Cryogenic argon purification is a standard feature in every Universal 3000 allowing the plant owner to realize significant income from sale of this high value product. Unlike older purification methods, no hydrogen is required. 

Advanced Analysis and Control

Universal 3000 systems are designed to operate in an unattended mode.  The advanced monitoring and control systems, with easily accessed real time and historical data, also allow remote monitoring and troubleshooting. 

If a problem requires shut down of the plant, the production unit will be automatically secured while designated personnel are notified through telephone and paging systems. 

UIG – Your Full Service Supplier

Universal 3000 systems provide in a convenient modular package, the core technology and equipment required to economically produce liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon at any location.  The equipment modules, interconnecting piping, and control system components are designed for rapid installation on simple foundations using minimal amounts of field labor.

To meet the needs of our customers, UIG offers these systems on a sale-of-equipment basis, with optional supervision services during construction, checkout, and startup, and on a turnkey basis, with full responsibility through the start of commercial production. 

Other plant components required for a completely functional plant will vary with each site. These ancillary components may be designed, procured, and installed by the plant owner, or by UIG.  In the first case, UIG will work with the owner’s engineering and construction personnel to ensure satisfactory installation and startup.  In the second case, the plant owner will have the advantages of single source responsibility for all aspects of plant design, installation, operator training, commissioning, and startup. 

After Startup– UIG  Ongoing Services

After startup UIG personnel and resources will remain available to provide ongoing operations support and maintenance services, if and when required.
