Bulk Merchant Liquid Product Sales and Marketing

UIG provided initial market development and sales services for liquid carbon dioxide produced as a by-product of a corn-to-ethanol process.  UIG supplied and installed the equipment used to recover, purify and liquefy the carbon dioxide, and also provided interim operations personnel and advisory services for the CO2 plant, until the primary corn-to-ethanol process was operating smoothly and reliably.

Liquid carbon dioxide product was sold to local end users and to a regional distributor of liquid carbon dioxide which had been bringing product into the area from a distant source.  The established distributor benefited from attractively priced product, lower transportation costs, and greater utilization of the distribution equipment which was used to serve local customers.

Liquid carbon dioxide plant location and marketing/ distribution area

UIG-supplied and commissioned a 250 tons per day liquid CO2 plant in the Town of Utica, Winnebago County, near Oshkosh, WI. Commercial operation began in mid-2003.

UIG provided post-startup CO2 plant operations support and transitional product sales and marketing services for approximately one year.

Once the primary corn-to-ethanol process was running smoothly, the plant owner-operators integrated operations and maintenance of the the CO2 plant with that of the ethanol plant and assumed responsibility for ongoing sales and marketing of the liquid carbon dioxide product.

Dual 500 ton liquid CO2 tanks ensure continuity of product supply

The liquid CO2 recovery and liquefaction plant was supplied and installed by UIG on a turnkey basis.  The plant can produce 250 tons per day of food grade liquid CO2. Product storage holds up to 1,000 tons of liquid carbon dioxide.

The plant processes raw CO2 feed gas produced as a by-product of a corn-to-ethanol manufacturing process.  Carbon dioxide recovery, purification and liquefaction operations meet strict beverage industry specifications and standards.  Purity of the liquid carbon dioxide product is monitored with precise analytical equipment to ensure full compliance with requirements.

This was the second installation of a new CO2 plant supplied by UIG.  UIG also supplied a 100 metric ton per day carbon dioxide plant to an operator of an ammonia plant in Poland.
